RADFORD – Radford police are looking for two suspects in a shooting in the west end of Radford Tuesday night.
According to Radford Department of Police Detective Sgt. Chris Caldwell, Radford police officers “responded to reports of gunshots being fired in the area of Second Street and Forest Avenue in the City of Radford” Tuesday at 10:42 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim who had been assaulted.
“This victim reported that during the assault shots had been fired at him,” Caldwell said in a statement. “The victim was treated for minor injuries including a grazing gun shot wound and later released from the hospital.”
Police are seeking two male suspects in the incident and a female suspect who remained in a vehicle during the assault and shooting. The male suspects have been described as a black male approximately 18-21 years-old, 5’9″ – 5’10” with short hair or shaved head wearing a hoodie; and a white male 6’4″ – 6’5″ wearing a big jacket and jeans.
The suspects were possibly driving a silver or grey four door sedan.
Caldwell said Tuesday evening’s shooting is not believed to be related to last week’s shooting. Last Wednesday, David Bradley Menefee, 27, of Collinsville was arrested and is being held without bond on attempted murder charges after shooting at two people in Radford on last Tuesday night.
In that incident, a male and a female victim were shot at while walking on Jeffries Drive. Neither victim was injured in the incident.
Anyone with information about the incident on Second Street and Forest Avenue are asked to contact Sergeant Chris Caldwell at 540-267-3190.
