The City of Radford has experienced significant flooding, as the result of Winter Storm Magnus. Currently the city has stopped
treating water, due to flooding, and has asked all residents to practice water conservation. Damage to city property will not be known until the flood waters recede; although, it is safe to say that city parks located along the New River will be greatly impacted.
The Radford City Animal Shelter has been evacuated and all animals have been moved to safe dry areas.
City residents located in areas prone to flooding have been contacted, though no evacuations have occurred. If an evacuation is necessary, those affected will be contacted.
Citizens are reminded that flood waters are dangerous. Avoid areas where there are flood waters.
