Blacksburg Library Events
Blacksburg Library Storytimes:
- Babies (0-12 months) – Fridays at 11 a.m.
- Tots (12-24 months) – Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
- Toddlers (2-3 years) – Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
- Preschoolers (4-5 years) – Thursdays at 10 a.m.
- All ages – Saturdays at 11 a.m.
Stay and Play, a Library Playgroup
- Every Wednesday after Storytime, 10:30-11:30 a.m., at the Blacksburg Library
- Under their parent’s supervision, babies and toddlers can play during this informal gathering. This program is for ages 0-4 and meets in the storytime room.
Birds by Robert Bateman: February Book Raffle
- All month
- Lavishly illustrated and engagingly written, this stunning book is a must-have for bird and art lovers alike. Stop by the library and fill out a raffle ticket for a chance to win.
Pippi Miller: Photography Exhibit on Display

- Sign up and read books, receive a free book when you turn in your completed reading log. For Children six and under.
Paws To Read with VT Helping PAWS: Dog Edition with “Yogi”
- Saturday, Feb. 25, 12-1 p.m.
- Register your child for a ten minute reading slot to read aloud to therapy dog, Yogi, and his handler, Dr. Corrigan.
Talking About Books: Fiction
- Monday, Feb. 27, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Join in a book discussion about the book by Lisa Genova, “Inside the O’Briens.” No commitment is required—drop in when it suits you.

- Color anti-valentine color sheets in the teen area all month long.
Artist in Residence; Shaylee Hodges
- All month
- Local artist and Christiansburg Library staff member Shaylee Hodges with be display her mix media art all month.
Patron’s Recommended Reads
- All month
- All ages are invited to submit favorite book titles for our new display that will highlight the books our patrons like to read. Send the titles via Facebook or fill out a form inside the library.
StoryWalk
- All month
- Exercise your brain and body as you walk the trail while stopping to read. Begin at the library or the College Street entrance of Downtown Park.
Winter Reading

- Make a working bow and arrow out of the materials provided.
Needle Crafting Group
- Sunday, Feb. 26, 2-3 p.m.
- Bring your knitting needles, crochet hooks, and cross stitch to work on while socializing with others. This group meets each month on the fourth Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
