RU soccer clinic
The Radford University women’s soccer program will be hosting a free clinic open to all age players on Tuesday, March 21 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the Dedmon Center Field.
Any individuals or groups are welcome to participate and coaches are encouraged to bring their entire teams to count as a practice.
Participants will be grouped by age and ability, or with their respective teams, for skill stations and fun.
The clinic will be run by current Radford players and staff, and will be immediately followed by autograph session.
There is no cost for the event, but as part of a larger fundraising campaign by the program and Radford Athletics, any donation would be greatly appreciated. No registration is necessary. Participants are asked only to bring their soccer ball.

Space Race 5K will be held April 9 at 11 a.m. at 49 Berkley Williams Drive in Radford.
By registering before April 3, you are eligible for the Early Registration price of $15. Radford University’s School of Communication will donate all proceeds from the Space Race to the Bobcat Backpacks Program. Participants can waive this fee by donating twelve (12) non-perishable goods.

Graham joins Central Michigan staff
Former Cincinnati Bengal and Virginia Tech Shayne Graham announced his official retirement from playing football last month, but he is back on the sidelines.
Wednesday, he was named the special teams’ quality control coordinator at Central Michigan University.
Graham played for 14 different teams over his career including seven with the Cincinnati Bengals, one with the Atlanta Falcons and a partial with the New England Patriots—this year’s Super Bowl teams.
In 2005, Graham played in the NFL Pro Bowl. He graduated from Pulaski County High School in 1996 and still holds the school record for most field goals in a season with 15.
He then attended Virginia Tech where he was first team All-Big East in four straight years and set both Big East and Virginia Tech marks of 97 consecutive extra points. He left Virginia Tech as the all-time scoring leader in history and Big East history with 371 points.
During his NFL career, other teams included the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens.
