Robert Lyle Bradley, Sr., age 90, of Shawsville, formerly of Bethel, Vermont peacefully passed away, Thursday, April 6, 2017, at his home. He was born in Royalton, Vermont on March 28, 1927 to the late Richard and Tressor Dean Bradley.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Bradley; his brothers, Richard, Norman, Harry, Frank, Fred and Ralph Bradley; and his sisters, Betty Chase and Ruth Gillander.
He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. Robert retired from United Technologies and moved to the New River Valley. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Christiansburg.
Mr. Bradley was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and volunteered in coaching little league baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Beverly Bradley; daughter, Lanie Bradley, of Vermont; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Bradley, Jr., of Christiansburg, Gary Bradley and Linda Schwarz, of Radford, David and Patricia Bradley, of Palms, California, James and Denise Bradley, of Belspring, Douglas Bradley, of Covington, Connecticut, Rick Bradley, of Christiansburg, Timothy Bradley, of Shawsville; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Striker, of Bethel, Vermont; brother, Sidney Bradley, of Ocala, Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later time.
