Carl William Martin, age 82, of Blacksburg, took his final lap around the farm and joined his wife, Doris Jean Martin; mother and father, Onie and Earl Martin; and those who have passed on before him on April 13 with his family by his side.
He leaves behind to carry and cherish his memory, son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Dale and Lilly Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Rena and Eddie Winters; granddaughters and spouses, Amanda and Robert Lewis, Alisha Martin and her fiancé, Travis Lester; great-grandchildren; Emily, Zachary, Mallory, McKenna, Cyle, and Rylan, all of Blacksburg; sister Juanita Kittinger and many nieces and nephews.
Carl was a retiree of the Virginia Tech Dairy Farm. You could usually find him on a tractor somewhere feeding cattle or moving hay. He loved to farm, garden, collect whatever caught his attention, and being with his family.
The family would like to thank Jessica McDonald, Carillion Hospice and Gentiva Home Health for the care that they have given in his last days with us.
A funeral service was held Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Hiawatha Spriggins officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
