Clarence Edward Sowers, 74, of Riner died, Sunday, April 30, 2017, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County Jan. 20, 1943 to the late Ollie Woodrow and Violet Wilson Sowers.
He was preceded in death by son, Robbie Tuell. He loved gardening and photography. He is survived by his wife, Susan Ratcliffe Sowers, of Riner, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ricky Vaden, grandchildren, Ashley Shelburne, Amanda Vaden, Daniel Vaden, great-grandsons, Isaiah Shelburne, Cody Shelburne, sister, Leona Thompson, brother, Donald Sowers, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Charlotte Epperley.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Riner Rescue Squad and Montgomery County Sheriffs Office.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Porter Riner officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riner Rescue Squad P.O. Box 858 Riner, VA 24149.
The family received friends Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
