Christine Alderman Linkous, 69, of Blacksburg went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery.
She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on April 10, 1948 to the late Gordon and Roenia McNeil Alderman. She was raised in Pilot, Va. before moving to Merrimac.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Carl Songer, sister, Marilyn Alderman. She was a member of Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her husband, Junior Linkous, daughter, Angie Songer and fiance, David Powell, son, Wes Linkous and Wendy Hodge, grandson, Hayden Linkous, mother-in-law, Sylvia Linkous, sisters and brother-in-law, Doris Doyle, Rachel Hale, Barbara Altizer, Helen and Charles O’dell, Darlene and Michael Worrell, brothers and sisters-in-law, Deloyd and Goldie Alderman, Tommy and Deana Alderman, Daniel and Cathy Alderman, David and Teresa Alderman, Abe and Alice Jones, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held yesterday in the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Kenneth Kingrea, Rev. Leon Alley and Rev. Richard Hall officiating.
Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
