little extra help affording fresh fruits and veggies. They have 6 raised beds in the garden that are senior accessible (4 that you can work in from a seated position and two that you can work in standing). Call RSVP for more details.
Huckleberry Trail closed, June 14-15
During the week of June 12, crews will be making asphalt repairs and sealing the pavement on a portion of the Huckleberry Trail, with closures occurring Wednesday and Thursday.
On Monday, June 12, and Tuesday, June 13, Christiansburg Public Works crews will be making asphalt repairs to the trail, between Cambria Street and the bridge that crosses the railroad tracks at town limits (toward Blacksburg). During this time, the trail will be passable, but all traffic will need to use caution. Crews will have work zone signage in place, and Town staff will assist pedestrians and cyclists through the work zone.
On Wednesday, June 14, and Thursday, June 15, a contractor will be applying a sealer. The trail will be closed from the Renva W. Knowles Bridge over Peppers Ferry Road to the bridge over the railroad tracks at town limits.
This portion is the oldest section of the Huckleberry Trail in Christiansburg, and maintenance is important to improve and sustain the trail. We apologize for any inconvenience but hope this work will preserve the trail for many years to come.
