Former Virginia Tech quarterback and 2004 ACC Player of the Year Bryan Randall was one of 11 inductees into the Virginia High School League Hall of Fame this past weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Randall had a decorated prep career at Bruton High School in Williamsburg, where he was the top-rated player in the state as a senior. A Parade All-American, Gatorade State Player of the Year and Associated Press Group AA Player of the Year on the gridiron in 2000, Randall was also a standout on the hardwood where he was the state Group AA Basketball Player of the Year.
Randall carried his high school success over to Virginia Tech where he continued the pipeline from the 757 to Blacksburg and turned in one of the most productive careers in program history. He still ranks third all-time with 6,508 passing yards and his single-game record of five touchdown passes against Syracuse in 2002 was just tied this past season by Jerod Evans against Boston College.
He was named First-Team All-ACC, ACC Offensive Player and ACC Player of the Year in 2004 after leading the Hokies to the conference championship in their first season in the league. Randall finished with 2,264 passing yards and threw for 21 scores that season.
In 2015, Randall was inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.
