Nannie Mae Berger Hairston of Christiansburg went home to be with the Lord on July 14.
She was born on August 7, 1921, to the late Samuel and Bessie Mae (Robinson) Berger, of West Virginia – a true coal miner’s daughter.
She leaves to cherish her memory her four daughters Catherine (James) McDaniel of Potomac, Md., Edwina (Fred) Miles of Washington, D.C., Dy-Anne (Benjamin) Penn, of Bartlett, Tenn. and Colette (Gary) Hash, of Pulaski, Va.; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends visitation was held on Thursday, July 20th, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Schaeffer Memoral Baptist Church (581 High Street, Christiansburg).
Celebration of her life was yesterday at Jubilee Christian Center (7331 Lee Highway, Fairlawn). Interment will be held at Schaeffer Community Cemetary in Christiansburg.
