William Floyd “Robbie” Robinson, 93, of Blacksburg, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by parents G. C. and America Compton Robinson; siblings Nora Simon, Versal Dittmar, Fay Miller, Lucretia Ferguson, Ray Robinson and beloved son-in-law Lowell Dalton.
He is survived by Elizabeth Dove Robinson, his devoted wife of 70 years; daughters and son-in-law, Agness and John Chandler, and Nina Dalton; granddaughter, Bethany Dalton; sister Betty Waldron; sisters-in-law Jane Robinson and Wanda Dove-Hopkins; special friends, Peggy Carroll and Randolph Vaden; numerous loved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Robbie was a life-long farmer, business co-owner/mechanic, and was retired from Virginia Tech Power Plant. A proud World War II Army Veteran, he was honored with several awards including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for saving the lives of many with his acts of heroism.

Visitation was held Friday evening at McCoy Funeral Home. Funeral services are today by Rev. Kenneth Poston, Rev. Jason Meredith and Mr. Randolph Vaden at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Alls Cemetery.
