Warm Hearth Village, in partnership with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, is offering active shooter education for the community at The Village Center at Warm Hearth Village on Tuesday, October 17, 1-3 pm.
The training is an interactive session with Lieutenant Mark Hollandsworth on the principles of ‘Run, Hide & Fight,’ a public safety protocol promoted by the Department of Homeland Security and law enforcement agencies as it pertains to an active shooter situation in a public setting.
The event is free and open to the public.
“This training is newly updated and there are new concepts that build on Run, Hide & Fight,” said Tambra Dixon, Director of Marketing and Development at Warm Hearth Village said.
“Warm Hearth Village has been proactively engaged in this type training for its staff and residents and we would like to make it available to others in the community to help educate and keep them safe,” Dixon said.
In light of recent shooting attack in Las Vegas, “Unfortunately, the timing is meaningful for this announcement,” she said.
