Last week Montgomery County unveiled concept plans for expanding the Eastern Montgomery Recreation Complex during an event held at the Meadowbrook Community Center in Shawsville.
In addition, Chair Chris Tuck recognized Supervisor Gary Creed for his service on the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors since 2002.
“Gary Creed has been a longtime advocate for the citizens in District C. He has especially been dedicated to never giving up on finding ways to improve his community. From the library to new schools to the fire station and even this community center where we are gathered today, Gary has been at the helm, collaborating, persevering, and proving time and again just how dedicated he is to his community,” said Chair Tuck. “The Eastern Montgomery Recreation Complex is no exception.”
The expansion concept plans include new ball fields, a multipurpose field, and a dedicated parking area. When the construction is complete, the Board intends to dedicate one of the fields to Supervisor Creed: “Creed Field” will be dedicated to Gary Creed “in recognition of his service on the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors from 2002 through 2017 and for his commitment to making the site a recreational complex for future generations to enjoy.”
Creed thanked attendees for their support over the years. “I hope I succeeded in making a difference in your life. It’s been a journey of long hours, many telephone calls, and challenges, but also rewards and satisfaction. I have always loved a challenge and hope I did you proud,” said Creed.
