I would like to thank the voters of Christiansburg for re-electing me to the Christiansburg Town Council.
I thought voters of Christiansburg would be interested in learning some of the comments I received while I was campaigning this fall.
The list includes:
• “The town spends money of things it doesn’t need. They need to remember that they are spending tax payer money that we worked hard for.”
• “Town employees are paying too much for health insurance compared to other locations.”
• “For the town a little tax increase is nothing, but for senior citizens it makes for tighter budget, that are already tight.”
• “New sidewalks and trails are great. Don’t stop.”
• “Good storm water retention is important, but so is my wallet.”
• “More down town events.”
• “You need to make everyone happy concerning the noise ordinance.”
• Curb side recycling will be wonderful.”
• The recreation facilities in Christiansburg are great.”
It appears to me; on the whole, the citizens are pleased with the quality of life in Christiansburg.
I plan to continue to write my periodic letter to the editor in the future. I hope that it helps to keep people aware of what is going on in the town.
Thanks,
Steve Huppert
