Tuesday was the first official national signing day for high school athletes to sign their letters of intent to continue their careers in college, and six from Christiansburg High School signed their names on the dotted line.
Kaylyn Cromer will attend Liberty University where she will compete on the track and field team. She has participated in track and field for the past six years and is the school record holder in the triple jump, 4X100 meter relay team and 4X200 meter relay team.
She is a two-time field event most valuable player for the CHS team and was a member of the 2016 indoor conference championship team. In addition, she is a 3-time New Balance Outdoor National Qualifier.
Academically, Cromer is ranked 22nd in her senior class. At Liberty she plans to major in chemistry.
Megan Cummins has signed to swim at George Mason University after swimming competitively for almost nine years. She is the school record holder in the 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle.
She has placed at the state meet for the last three years and was state runner up in the 500 free-style last year. She also placed second at the Junior Nationals in the mile.
In the classroom, Cummins maintains a 4.22 grade point average and is ranked second in the senior class. At Mason, she plans to study forensic science.
Anna McGlamery will attend the University of Mary Washington next year to run track and cross-country. She has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and at Mary Washington plans to major in psychology and criminal justice.
Erik Eva is headed to Davidson College to wrestle. He has wrestled for 11 years with the last four years being at CHS. He is a 3-time conference champion, 2-time state place winner and a member of the 16-time state team champion.
Eva is a member of the national Beta Club, National Honor Society, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has maintained a 4.08 grade point average and is ranked 12th in the senior class. He plans to major in economics at Davidson.
Nathan Morton will continue his athletic career at West Virginia Tech to run track and cross-country. He has run cross-country for the past four years at CHS and is the school record holder in the mile steeple.
Academically, Morton has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and is ranked 18th in the senior class. He plans to major in civil engineering.
Henry Quesenberry will attend Emory & Henry to run track and cross-country. He has run cross-country for four years at CHS and was a member of the 2017 Region 3D team champions. Quesenberry also qualified for the 2016 New Balance Indoor Nationals in race walk.
He plans to major in sports manager at Emory & Henry.
