The Salem Red Sox rolled out their 2018 schedule Wednesday, including 33 weekend tilts and plenty of fireworks among their 70 home games at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark.
The Sox are set to open the 2018 campaign with a seven-game homestand beginning Thursday, April 5 against the Buies Creek Astros and Wilmington Blue Rocks. Salem will play 16 of 24 April games at home, offering fans plenty of chances to catch some exciting early-season baseball.
The second half promises lots of action as well, kicking off with an eight-game homestand from June 21 to June 29 against the Frederick Keys and Carolina Mudcats. The Sox will then head on the road from June 30 until July 8 in their longest road swing of the season. The Sox will spend plenty of time at home near the end of the season, with 17 of their 32 games in August and September scheduled for Haley Toyota Field. The Sox close the season with a four-game home series against their regional rivals (and reigning Carolina League co-champions) Lynchburg Hillcats from August 31 to September 3.
