The Pulaski Yankees will have a new general manager this coming year. Christina Edney, who served as assistant general manager this past year, has been named the minor league team’s new GM after the departure of Blair Hoge, who will join the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Dash this spring.
Edney is a Pulaski native and 2012 Liberty University graduate, where she studied sports journalism and minored in Youth Ministry.
She spent several years working in TV news as an Associate Producer at WDBJ7 in Roanoke and a sports reporter and morning reporter at WHSV TV3 in Harrisonburg before returning to her Pulaski roots.
“It’s great to be home, in my town and at my ballpark. As we continue to move forward and look to the future, my goal is to build on the foundation already in place and continue to provide a fun, safe affordable stadium for children, families and fans alike,” said Edney.
Hoke was the team’s first GM after the Shelor Ownership group took over in 2015 after purchasing the team from Pulaski Baseball.
The Yankees will open the 2018 season on June 19 in Danville before returning June 22 for their home opener.
This year’s schedule includes a home game for the July 4th holiday and five home stands that span over weekends.
