Robert Allison Jordan, 81, of Radford, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. Born on March 11, 1936, he was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and retired from Radford Army Ammunitions Plant.
He was a 1958 graduate of VMI where he played football, was captain of the baseball team and is in the Sports Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the RHS Athletic Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge Southall and Marjorie E. Jordan; and brothers, Jimbo and Bill Jordan.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Jordan of Radford; son, Robert L. Jordan (Tatiana) of Fairfax; daughters, Jill Phillips (Jeff) of Christiansburg, and Constance Washam (Charles) of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Jordan, Margo, Art and Shannon; great granddaughter, Ryan; sister, Lee Slusher (Jim) of Radford; and many other relatives and friends.
The family received friends on Jan. 8, 2018 at Grace Episcopal Church in Radford. Memorial services followed with Rev. Charles W. Washam officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the General Fund at Grace Episcopal Church or to the VMI Class of 1958 Foundation.
The Jordan family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
