Ronald H. “Joe” Raines, 75, of Newport died, Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at his home. He was born in Craig County, Virginia on July 27, 1942 to the late Moffett and Bertha Sue Duncan Raines. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judy Smith Raines and his brother Donald Raines.
He is survived by his daughter, Mitzi Cumbee and Darrill Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Michelle Raines; and his sweet girl, the light of his life granddaughter, Cassidy Raines; and longtime buddy, Rodney Smith.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice, his caregivers, Beulah Gibson, Chelsey Wilson, and Angela Boyd.
Graveside services will be conducted today, Jan. 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Level Green Christian Church Cemetery.
