- Parents and caregivers are invited to socialize while supervising an informal play group for their babies and toddlers. Ages 0-4.
Club M.O.M. (Meeting Other Munchkins)
- Every Wednesday after Storytime, 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM, Jessie Peterman Library, Floyd
- This play group will meet every Wednesday there is a Storytime planned. Relatives can relax and have a cup of tea while their children play with blocks and other toys.
Art Exhibit: Cavan Fleming
- All Month, at the Blacksburg Library
- Using a mix of materials — oil paint, ink, graphite, hand-refined and sun-bleached linseed and walnut oils, calcium carbonate, Cavan Fleming recreates the terrain with images that are richly detailed ”semi-abstract, imaginary spaces,” which “are passages of marks that begin to form their own patterns and microstructures.” Fleming’s work will be on display from January 1-February 28th at the Blacksburg Library.

Just pick up an art card at the front desk, visit Miss Jessie’s Gallery, answer a few questions, then return your signed card to the front desk for a bookmark. The exhibition addresses the important and long-lasting effects of Prohibition on commonwealth and America.
Color Me Happy

Decoupage Your Own Artist Sketchbook

- For children ages 5-17. Artist and entrepreneur Rhonda Withington will show us how to decoupage hardcover sketchbooks. Each child will decorate their own cover and keep the sketchbook to fill with more masterpieces. All supplies are provided: the sketchbooks were generously donated by Ms. Withington. Teen Council Kickoff

Healthy Eating as we Age

- Come spend the afternoon with Beth Richey, MS, RD to discuss healthy eating as we age. Beth will talk about what it means to “eat healthy” as well as aspects of nutrition to consider as you age. She will end the session exploring ways to shake up your dinner menu and prepare quick, healthy meals for one or two people. A healthy snack and recipes will be provided.

Adventures at the Edge of Bootlegging: Author Talk by Clyde Kessler
