Edmunds honored
Tremaine Edmunds has added yet another accomplishment to his career as a Hokie, earning the General Douglas MacArthur Memorial Award as top collegiate player from Virginia. The Norfolk Sports Club will honor Edmunds at the 73rd Annual Norfolk Sports Club Jamboree on February 22 at the Norfolk Marriott.
Newly-named College Football Hall of Fame selection, Frank Beamer, will present the honor to Edmunds at the event, while former NFL head coach and current Arizona State head coach Herm Edwards will serve as the Jamboree’s keynote speaker.
Edmunds earned third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press and first-team All-ACC accolades after turning in his second straight 100-tackle campaign for the Hokies in 2017. The Danville, Virginia native finished the season ranked sixth in the ACC with 109 total tackles. His 60 solo tackles ranked fourth in the conference and his 14 tackles for loss tied for second among ACC linebackers and ranked eighth overall in the league.
