Harley Quentin (Pete) Dove, Sr., 87, of Christiansburg died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at his home. He was born in Alleghany County, VA on May 15, 1930 to the late Emmett E. and Stella McNeil Dove. He was also preceded in death by his son, Harley Quentin (Butch) Dove, Jr., sister and brother-in-law, Betty and James Hinkle; sister-in-law, Frances Williams. Pete was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Pete retired from Appalachian Power after 42 years. He attended Cambria Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alene W. Dove; adopted daughter, Joyce Brown; adopted grandchildren, Sandra Woolridge, Angela and Ron Brun, Kimberly Brugh; adopted great-grandchildren, Heather and Jamie Martin, Terrell Brugh, Chad Woolridge; five adopted great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine and Douglas DeHart, Betty Joe Davidson; brother-in-law, Fred Williams, Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted today, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cambria Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Crowgey officiating. Interment will follow in the Den Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
