Virginia Tech guard Devin Wilson has been named to the 2018 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Basketball team, as announced Wednesday by Commissioner John Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Wilson, a redshirt senior from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, earns the honor for the third time in his career. He was also selected in 2015 and 2016. Wilson earned his degree in political science and is currently working towards a second degree in English.
Wilson is one of 30 players named to this year’s team. North Carolina’s Luke Maye was named the recipient of the league’s 2018 Skip Prosser Award, given annually to the top scholar-athlete in ACC men’s basketball. It is named in memory of Wake Forest head basketball coach George Edward “Skip” Prosser, who passed away on July 26, 2007.
Duke’s Grayson Allen earned a spot on the honors team for a fourth-straight year while Maye, Louisville’ Deng Adel and Raymond Spalding, Clemson’s Gabe DeVoe, Notre Dame’s Rex Pflueger and Wilson were named for a third time.
