The Mountain Empire District has released its 2017-18 All-District team which includes three players from Auburn High School. Abby Wilson, Rachel Harding and Emma Sutphin were named to the honorable mention team.
Christiansburg’s Grace Hutson was named the girls’ player of year in the River Ridge District, while her father and coach Joe Hutson was named the River Ridge coach of the year. Hutson was named to the first team. Teammates Julia Moschella, Hanna Allen and Hannah Carr were second team all-district, and Kendall Lewis was named to the third team.
The River Ridge boys’ team included Blacksburg’s Grant Johnston and Christiansburg’s Austin Brown on the first team. Christiansburg’s Isaac Hayden was second team along with Blacksburg’s Drew Babcock. Third teamers included Cam Nagle and D’Angelo Ruff, both of Christiansburg, and Cole Epperley of Blacksburg.
Brown was also named to the second team All-3D region.
The Region 3-D girls team including Christiansburg’s Hutson on the first team and Moschella to the second team.
Blacksburg’s Skyler Prosser was second team All-Region 4D, while teammate Meghan Shelton was second team.
