New River Community College will offer several one-day workshops on Microsoft Office computer programs in April and May.
- “Access: Intermediate” focuses on normalizing data, managing relationships, referential integrity, working with Lookup fields, join queries, calculated fields and summary values. Participants will also work with PivotTables. This workshop is scheduled Friday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (#9034).
- “Word: Advanced” will cover performing mail merge, and creating forms, master documents, table of contents, footnotes and indexes. Students will also create macros, customize the ribbon and set Word options. The workshop will be held Friday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (#9029).
- “Excel: Advanced” will use features of Excel to create and enhance PivotTables, use advanced functions, use Goal Seek and analysis tools and create macros. PivotTables are used to analyze and compare large amounts of data. The workshop is scheduled Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (#9032).
- “Access: Advanced” is designed for students who are familiar with database management. Participants will work with advanced forms, macros, SQL statements, Internet integration and security fundamentals. This workshop will be held Friday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (#9035).
All courses will be held at NRCC’s NRV Mall site in Christiansburg, room 143.
Tuition is $115 per workshop, which will prepare individuals for Microsoft Office Specialist certification.
