Virginia is one beautiful state. From the Eastern shore to the far western mountain ranges you find a kind of lasting beauty that has drawn visitors and residents for hundreds of years.
Located in the Southwest end of the state, but not quite to the far reaches of the state, you find the lush and historic New River Valley. The Bike Virginia Tour will be in the NRV June 22-24.
The region mixes old and new in a comfortable fashion. One moment you will pass through farms and pasture that seem to be untouched by time, and a short while later you’ll be in the heart of one of Virginia’s most innovative learning and entrepreneurial regions.
During the 2018 event the tour will visit Radford, Dublin, Christiansburg, Pulaski, Floyd and Blacksburg. Each of these communities offers both modern and historic sights and places of interest.
On your tour journey you will roll through farmland, expansive pastures, and by forested hillsides. Our routes will follow along the New River and other tributaries, and treat you to the splendor of Claytor Lake.
In addition, the 2018 Team Fitness contest is open to local businesses and groups during the tour. Prizes include $1200 value weekend bike vacation for four and community bike rack.
Remember how much fun it is to ride a bike? Cycling is a great way for people of all ages to be more fit, spend time outside, to de-stress, and to have fun.
Bike Virginia is teaming up with local partners to help area residents fall in love with being active again in 2018.
