Douglas Ford Horstman, Jr., 73, of Christiansburg, Va., died peacefully on July 11, 2018 following a brief hospitalization. He was born on Nov. 27, 1944 and a Baltimore native.
Son of the late Douglas Ford Horstman and Ruth Slade Horstman, Doug leaves behind his devoted friend and caregiver Carletta Kemp of Christiansburg, Va., and four-legged buddy Taz; sisters, Trudi Klug of Baltimore, Md., Becki Proctor (Ed) of Havre de Grace, Md., and Deni Horstman (Rod Keen) of Shaker Heights, Ohio.; nieces Cindy Stewart (Aaron), Ami Proctor, and Carrie Slothour (Wayne) and their families; and step-nephews, Paul (Kathleen) and Stephen (Beth Schoenbach) Keen and their families. He was a Virginia Tech Hokie alumnus and faithful fan.
Interment at a later date in the All Saints Chapel columbarium in the Church of the Covenant, Cleveland, Ohio.
The Horstman family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, Va.
