June Gallimore Almond, 88, of Blacksburg passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Kroontje Health Care Center. June was the wife of the late Billy Owen Almond. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, she was pre-deceased by her parents, Clinton E. and Blanche W. Gallimore.
June is survived by two sons; Jay Almond and Lynn Almond (wife, Jan Almond), both of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Travis Almond of Blacksburg, Chris Almond and wife, Amanda Almond; two great granddaughters; Shelby Almond and Mabry Almond. Chris and his family currently reside at Guam Naval Base.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the care provided by the Memory Care staff at Kroontje Health Care Center and Medi-Home Hospice Services. Everyone was so attentive and supportive of June.
Graveside services were held July 16 2018 in the Westview Cemetery with Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. The family received visitors until service time at the cemetery. The services were followed by a luncheon at the Blacksburg Christian Church fellowship hall. All were invited to attend. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
