Kady Cox, 21, of Riner made the Dean’s Honor Roll this spring at University of Mississippi majoring at the Meek School of Journalism and New Media.
“She wanted to study in the shadows of Faulkner and Hemingway,” said her Dad, Perry Cox. He says he’s not surprised at his daughter’s success and had advised her upon high-school graduation “to go be happy.”
“She’s really thrived there,” he said.
Her discipline is sports marketing and public relations.
“This is an esteemed honor that required tremendous hard work and dedication on your part,” the University of Mississippi letter from the dean, Will Norton, said.
She was an accomplished athlete all-district and all-regional soccer player at Christiansburg High School graduating in 2015.
Entering her senior year and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
She’s currently working part-time for the Southeastern Conference sports television network working with the production manager, and plans to work in the sports marketing industry.
