Dallas Edward Linkous, Jr., 91, of Merrimac, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018. He was born in Montgomery County, VA on July 27, 1927 to the late Dallas Edward, Sr., and Carola Linkous. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Price Linkous, three sisters, Margaret Stone, Marie Lawson, and Stina Thompson.
Dallas was a longtime member of Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church. He retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant after over 30 years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jim Mullins; his son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Sarah Linkous; six grandchildren, Nenita Kilper, Normi Kaminer, Dennis Linkous, Dallas Linkous, Jamie Delahoz, and James Mullins, Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren, William, Drayton, Bobby, Kody, Nina, Taylor, Jayden, Gabe, Thurgood, Tristan, Isabella, Daymon, Peter, and Evva; one great-grandson, Ethan; two sisters, Diane Perdue and Kathleen Albert.
Funeral services were held Oct. 8, 2018 in the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Carl Early, Pastor William Dillon, and Pastor William Hall officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family received friends Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
