Edna Dehart Carden, 89, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 at her home in Christiansburg. Born on Aug. 19, 1929, she was retired from Virginia Tech and was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Nannie Dehart; her husband, Clarence E. Carden; and sister, Shirley Dehart.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Debbie Carden of Radford; daughter, Jennifer Newton of Michigan; grandchildren, Christopher Carden, Jason (Heather) Carden, Melissa Carden, and John (Sonya) Kien; great grandchildren, Hunter, Bailee and John, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Ginny Dehart; Sister, Doris Boitnott; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Melissa and Allie Simpkins, and Breyanna Lytton.
The family received friends on Nov. 2, 2018 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services were held with Rev. Zane Cox officiating. Interment followed in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
