Tincie Lula Hungate Mattox, 95, of McCoy moved to her heavenly home, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at her home. She was born in Belspring, Va. on Feb. 23, 1923 to the late Crockett Lee and Evia Albert Hungate. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Dalphine Mattox, grandson, Richard Brett Quarterman, infant sister, Virginia, infant brother, Sherwood, and sister, Francie Mae Sublett, brothers, Emmett, Alfred Lee (Buck), Jack, Cloyd Hungate.
She worked at Radford Army Ammunition Plant until she was married. She retired from Rose’s after many years. Tincie was a member of Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), McCoy. She is survived by her husband of 73 years on Dec. 18, 2018, James H. Mattox, daughter and son-in-law, Peggy M. and Richard “Buddy” Quarterman, Blacksburg, son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy D. and Louise Mattox, Newport, grandson, William Shane Mattox and wife, Jennifer, Christiansburg, great-grandchildren, Rylie, Ryan, and Charlotte Mattox, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were conducted Dec. 14, 2018 in the Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Steve Allen officiating.
