The Christiansburg High School indoor track teams brought home the Class 3 west regional title this past weekend. The Blue Demon boys tallied 141 points to Cave Spring’s 95. Northside finished third with Abingdon and Magna Vista, tying for fourth.
On the girls’ side of the track, the Blue Demons compiled 149 points to Lord Botetourt’s 71 and Cave Spring’s 70. Northside finished fourth with 60 points.
Nathan Jenkins who won the regional title in the boys shot, while the boys 4×400 team of Landon Shaver, Trey Wilson, Dakota Sisson and Ethan Mills, also took first place.
Ethan Mills was the regional champion in both the 1k and 1600-meter runs. Lilly Shepherd won the 500-meter regional title.
Makenna Horne was 55-meter regional champion. The girls 4×400 team of Makenna Horne, Lilly Shepherd, Maddie Wright and Kendall Lewis also won a region title.
Lewis was the regional champion in both the long jump and 55 hurdles where she set a new school record running 8.70.
Rachel Lloyd took first in the girls’ pole vault, tying her own school record of 11 feet.
Also, the girls 4×800 team of Sarah Bower, Maddie Yancey, Rose Wnorowski and Allie Lloyd claimed a first place.
