Downtown Blacksburg will be the center of attention on April 6 as the Virginia Tech Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. hosts a community-wide event featuring dance performances, live DJs and a step show competition.
This is a completely free event, open to the entire New River Valley and is meant to showcase the talent of the area while raising money for the March of Dimes.
The Blue Block Party for March of Dimes will be held at Henderson Lawn and College Ave from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event has been brought together with the collaborative efforts of the Mu Nu Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Virginia Tech, Coldwell Banker, WFXR Fox News, Food Lion, Downtown Blacksburg, Inc., the Town of Blacksburg, March of Dimes, and the numerous organizations that have agreed to volunteer their time to perform at the event.
The Blue Block Party will feature dance performances from Virginia Tech organizations like Salsa Tech and the Cultural Dance Crew. The Little Leapers and Dance.tech will be showcasing their talents during the Blue Block Party.
“Blacksburg’s best DJs will be playing the latest hits during the event to keep the crowd energized!” an announcement for the event said. “The block party will conclude with a step show competition between the best performing teams in Virginia.”
