A women’s beginning mountain bike ride hosted by the Blacksburg’s women’s cycling team, VeloRiot, will begin at 2 p.m. this Sunday, April 7.
The group will meet at Pandapas Pond in the parking lot right off Rt. 460 (the upper lot).
The geared-toward-beginners-but-all-are-welcome ride will be an “out and back” on Poverty Creek trail.
“There will be frequent regrouping and a lot of socializing,” said ride leader Patty Kitchin said in an announcemen of the event.
Helmets are required and if your tires have tubes, please bring an extra tube for your tires.
“Is your mountain bike sitting in the garage with flat tires? Are you unfamiliar with the trails at Pandapas and hesitant to ride alone? Well pump up your tires and lube your chain and come join us!” wrote Kitchin, who will be in the upper parking lot at 1:45.
If the trails are too wet to ride on by Sunday afternoon an email to cancel will be sent at least an hour before the ride.
