The Rotary Club of Blacksburg is holding its 6th Annual Chocolate Festival from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m this Saturday, April 13, in downtown Blacksburg.
“Join our mascot, Chippy, and taste your way through downtown Blacksburg,” the Rotary announcement said.
As its signature fundraising event, the Chocolate Festival showcases artisanal chocolates, live music, kid’s activities like bouncy castles and face painting and a Beer & Wine Garden on tree-lined Draper Street.
There will be more than 20 tasting sites for sampling chocolates made by local chocolatiers.
Tasting tickets include Chocolate Tasting Samples at participating tasting sites as well as entry into a variety of ticketed kids events. There will be additional tickets for the Beer & Wine in the Garden on Draper Road.
This fundraiser will help the Rotary Club support local organizations like Community Health Center of the NRV, Women’s Resource Center, Literacy Volunteers of the NRV, Hale YMCA Community Gardens and multiple scholarships.
Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto “Service Above Self”.
The Rotary Club of Blacksburg was founded in 1979 and is a part of Rotary International, a global network of community volunteers united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
