The eighth annual Combatting Racial Injustice Workshop centering on the subject “Black lives matter: eliminating racial inequity in the criminal justice system”
will be held at The Inn at Virginia Tech on Saturday, April 27, beginning with check-in and continental breakfast at 8 a.m. and a day of discussion.
The featured speaker this year is Nazgol Ghandnoosh, Ph.D., a Senior Research Analyst at The Sentencing Project in Washington, DC.
Ghandnoosh conducts and synthesizes research on criminal justice policies. With a degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles, she analyzes racial disparities in the justice system, public opinion about punishment, and the scope of reform efforts.
