Montgomery County-Radford City-Floyd County branch of the NAACP will host a panel discussion on the ratifying the ERA in Virginia, strengthening the Violence Against Women Act and Equal Pay and what it means to Southwest Virginia.
The conversation, called “Equal Rights, Equal Protections” will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 20.
The panel, moderated by Charmayne Brown, morning news anchor with WFXR, will feature Ashley Reynolds, executive director with the YWCA of Central Virginia, Penny Franklin, president IUE-CWA Local 82160, and Laurie Buchwald, Elect Women and Virginia’s List and a representative from VA Ratify ERA.
Ariel Hill-Davis, Republican Women for Progress will Skype in from DC.
Delegate Hurst has been invited to be part of the panel. Invitations to both participate or be in attendance has been sent to Delegate Rush, McNamara and Senator Edwards.
