Organized by the Shawsville Ruritan Club, the Shawsville Fourth of July celebration has been held for 41 years.
This year, the tradition featured a 5K run, an afternoon parade, field games and fireworks.
In the parade, E&E Automotive was excited to bring the car show back to the Shawsville 4th of July celebration, said Melinda Smith of the Shawsville Ruritan following the event.
“There was a great turnout featuring three classes. Doug Sink’s blue F100 won Best Original. Adam Kroll’s yellow station wagon won Best Custom. Kenneth Trout’s Chevy Nova won Best in Show.”
Smith added congratulations to Becky Weddle for winning the Yeti cooler in the raffle drawing and added that the Ruritan Club were able to donate $125 to Eastern Montgomery High School’s athletic department through those raffle ticket sales.
