Christiansburg Institute and Virginia Organizing is hosting a block party and cook-out today, Saturday, Sept. 7, from 12-3 p.m. at the historic school at 140 Scattergood Drive.
“Please join members and supporters of Christiansburg Institute and Virginia Organizing as we celebrate the end of summer, local black history, and coming together as a community,” the organization said in an announcement of the event. There will be free food, live music, and fun for the whole family.
