One of the most common secret vices of those with cable TV may well be watching the Christmas movie marathons on the Hallmark channel. It’s a sample fact that Christmas is a time for magic and the traditions that we cherish. And whether we’re willing to admit it or not, Christmas has now become a time to watch as many original TV movies as a human being can possibly endure.
The drama department at Christiansburg High School has decided to lend us binge watchers a hand with its production of The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon. The show will be presented as a dinner theatre on Thursday, Nov. 21, Friday, Nov. 22, and Saturday, Nov. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Belmont Christian Church, 1500 Peppers Ferry Rd., in Christiansburg.

The show is a zany comedy by playwright Don Zolidis that provides holiday feel-good moments and laughs. The setting is tiny Hopewood Falls, Vt, a beautiful snow-covered village that is the perfect setting for six funny and sugary-sweet tales of Christmas love and romance.
Thus Christmas move marathoners can enjoy the sugar rush of six Christmas movies all the once. In Hopewood Falls, singles in adorable sweaters converge to look for love. Can disguises help royalty and/or movie stars find the down-to-earth connections they crave? Will evil city slickers destroy charming inns and/or Christmas tree farms? Isn’t it a little creepy for the budding of a romance to depend on one person’s being in a coma?
So come join the Christiansburg High students as they present what is a wildly entertaining parody of holiday rom-coms.
