The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office says a traffic stop has led to a major drug arrest. 46-year-old Andrew Jason Wayne Kiser of Castlewood was charged with intent to distribute more than 10 grams of methamphetamine and possession of a concealed weapon.
During the December 14 incident, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office located more than 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Kiser remains in custody, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 23.
The sheriff’s department has also released information on the arrest of two people involved in a breaking and entering that occurred in March at 3448 Mt. Zion Road in Blacksburg.
Vernon Lorell Raggins, Jr., a 25-year-old black male of Blacksburg, was arrested and charged with attempted breaking and entering with the intent to commit robbery and attempted robbery.
A search warrant was obtained and executed in reference to this investigation for 2160 Shale Road. During the execution of the search warrant, deputies located the suspected firearms used during the attempted robbery of 3448 Mt. Zion Rd.
Raggins is in custody pending a jury trial on January 15.
A second person, Erika Syann Swartz, an 18-year-old white female of Blacksburg, was also charged with attempted breaking and entering with the intent to commit robbery and attempted robbery. Swartz was found guilty of attempted robbery on December 11 and is set for sentencing on March 11.
