Jessica Spicer, Alyssa Montgomery and Becca DiNunzio have been named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association’s (WGCA) 2020 All-American Scholar team. This is Spicer’s fourth year on the team and the first selection for both Montgomery and DiNunzio.
Spicer is a senior from Bahama, N.C., majoring in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience and psychology. She was third on the team in scoring this season and fourth in career scoring. Earlier this year, she was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and to the Academic All-State team by the Virginia collegiate Sports Information Directors. During the spring, she was named the Virginia Tech Female Athlete of the Year.
Montgomery, a freshman from Knoxville, Tenn., was second on the team in scoring average and crunch time scoring average. She had five top-20 finishes, highlighted by a third-place finish at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic to open the spring schedule. She was named to the 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
DiNunzio, a freshman from Norfolk, started every event this past season and was fifth on the team in scoring average. She had three top-20 finishes, highlighted by a 14th-place finish at the Gators Invitational in early March. She was named to the 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for the coaches association honor, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. Bose and Spicer are two of 1,401 student-athletes honored across all levels of collegiate women’s golf. The trio is three of 42 ACC golfers on the list
