Oscar Hiland Meadows, 89, of Dublin, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 2, 2020.
Oscar served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as well as the Vietnam War. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford for 42 years and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Dublin until his passing. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Roxie Akers Meadows.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Annabelle Harvey Meadows; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Billy Baxter of Pulaski, Cindy and Travis Stuart of Pulaski, Brenda and Gary Stike of Dublin, and Kara Hayes of Radford; sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Anita Meadows of Christiansburg, Steven and Kim Meadows of Wheatfield, Ind., and Kevin Meadows of Durham, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Patty Meadows of Rich Creek, and Kenneth and Priscilla Meadows of Princeton, W.Va.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Francis Hubbard of Princeton, W.Va., June Bailey of Princeton, W.Va., Betty and Bob Tilley of Athens, W.Va., Mary Jo and James White of Princeton, W.Va., and Joyce and Marion Meadows of Princeton, W.Va.; and many other family members and friends.
The family received friends on Monday, July 6, 2020, at the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the Gethsemane Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Gibson and the Rev. Doug Testerman officiating. Graveside services with full military honors followed at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
