Eastern Montgomery High School has replaced its aging board with a new one that is ready to welcome the Mustangs onto the field next spring.
East Mont Athletic Director Kirk Lytton said the school had started to have problems during past games.
“I was at a point because of the number of issues that would just happen that I was feeling uncomfortable with the scoreboard,” Lytton said. “We were also having to start replacing a lot of bulbs. The look of the scoreboard, just from the weather conditions and age, was not what we felt was acceptable for our school. We wanted a scoreboard that our school and our community could be proud of.”
The total cost, with installation, was about $16,000. Sponsors paid for the cost of the scoreboard while EMHS Athletics paid for the installation.
“We are very appreciative of our sponsors and their commitment to Eastern Montgomery High School and our community especially during this time when finances are tight,” Lytton said.
The new scoreboard is wireless and features LED lighting.
