Terry Ray Gillenwater, 62, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, while surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Terry was born on Christmas day in Giles County and grew up in Radford.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bernard Gillenwater; his maternal grandparents, James Garfield and Minnie Frazier Perdue; and his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Dora Gillenwater.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Perdue Rickborn of Christiansburg; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Candace Gillenwater of Christiansburg; grandchildren Brooklynne, Zachary and Lillian Dowdy; sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Mike Rosasco of Greensboro, N.C.; a half-brother, Mark Gillenwater of Radford; a niece and her husband, Macy and Jordan Klein of Greensboro, N.C.; nephew, Spencer Crigler and Brandon Crigler of Charlotte, N.C.; the mother of his child, Kathy Smith Gillenwater of Christiansburg; and many other relatives and friends.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until noon on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services began at noon with Hayden Cran officiating. Interment followed in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
