Through Friday, Aug. 28, Downtown Blacksburg Inc. (DBI) will be hand-delivering COVID-19 Prep Kits to all downtown merchant members.
These kits will include hand sanitizer (provided by Main Street Pharmacy), gloves, face coverings/masks: Be Committed, Be Well (provided by the New River Valley Public Health Task Force), face mask signage (provided by the New River Valley Public Health Task Force), Be Committed, Be Well poster (provided by the New River Valley Public Health Task Force), a list of local PPE suppliers (provided by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce), information on Ordinance 1942, which effectively rolls Blacksburg back to Phase II, and information on the small business grant application which is now live (provided by the government of the Town of Blacksburg).
“These kits are very robust and we would like to thank those who helped make the distribution possible,” said Casey Jenkins, DBI’s executive director. “It is my hope that these kits will help support and protect the local business community by furnishing necessary PPE and pertinent information that our downtown business owners need during these trying times. DBI always strives to be a champion in business resources, and we hope that these kits will be put to good use.”
