United Way of the New River Valley is kicking off its fall fundraising campaign with a week-long celebration from Monday, Sept. 21, through Saturday, Sept. 26.
Monday, Sept. 21, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. is United Way Benefit Night at Zeppoli’s Restaurant, 810 University Blvd. in Blacksburg. Twenty percent from pickup/delivery orders and gift cards and 10 percent from dine-in will go directly to United Way. The kick-off celebration continues with a virtual event on Thursday, Sept. 24. Mayors from around the New River Valley will deliver inspirational messages on the importance of Living United in uncertain times. United Way’s partner agencies, Literacy Volunteers and the Community Health Center, will offer messages about United Way’s impact on them.
Special guest speaker Joe Thomas from WRAD radio will speak about the impact United Way has on the New River Valley.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, Panda Express 250 Peppers Ferry Road NW in Christiansburg, will host a benefit day as part of the fall campaign.
