Sinkland Farms, 3020 Riner Rd., in Christiansburg, will kick off its 29th annual pumpkin festival Thursday, Oct. 1.
Every Thursday and Friday through Nov. 1, Sinkland Farms will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with limited attractions. The pumpkin festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays through six weekends until Nov. 1. Admission is $10 per person.
Seniors and members of the U.S. Armed Forces receive a discount, and children under the age of two are free. Admission includes the hayride, the corn maze, pig races, the Kidz Zone, the animal barn, all music and entertainment performances and parking. Horse trail rides, pony rides and a few other attractions are an extra charge.
Tastings of Virginia wines and craft beer are available each day, along with a packed schedule of live music, all included with admission to the festival. Chainsaw carving, a blacksmith and lasso exhibitions are part of the fun. Visitors can also enjoy the arts and crafts vendors.
Sinkland Farms’ Pumpkin Festival has been voted a “Best Fall Festival” and ranked the “Best Pumpkin Patch” in Virginia. Other accolades include “Top 10 EPIC wedding venue” in the commonwealth.
Attractions include a giant slide for all ages, a zip line for kids and the Bad Axe throwing station every Saturday and Sunday.
All sizes, shapes, and colors of pumpkins, gourds and squash in many varieties are available for purchase. Visitors will find hay bales, corn shocks and colorful mums. Food Trucks will offer many types of food from pizza to burgers, sandwiches and donuts. The festival will also have a coffee bar and hand-dipped ice cream.
Sinkland’s pumpkin festival is outdoors on the 125-acre farm. The staff will be devoting extra attention to cleaning and sanitation to protect against COVID-19.
